Two alternative guidance features have been added to the mobile apps for you to try. These are accessible via the main menu.
Whether they are retained or not will depend upon your feedback - so please compare them with the original version and let us know which you prefer via our contact page.
Below is a description of all three currently available options
Guidance is provided in standard mode by coloured indicators running along the top of the screen. Adjust your steering until the upper and lower indicators match.
HINTS: Select a slow speed and don't try to follow small changes in the guidance indicator too closely. Also, try to observe what the vehicles are doing in the scene when you react to changes in the guidance indicator.
In this mode guidance is provided by a wheel indicator at the bottom of the screen. Adjust your steering until the coloured mark on the inner wheel is aligned with the one on the outer ring.
HINTS: As for the standard guidance feature. Select a slow speed and try to observe the vehicles as well as the indicator.
Here, guidance is provided via audio instructions (with subtitles). Follow the instructions with slow, smooth changes to the steering position. When instructed to turn left or right, you should continue to change the steering position in that direction until instructed to stop. You should then hold the steering in that position. The colour of the subtitle bar will also let you know to move the steering position right (red), or left (green) or hold it where it is (grey). Note that reverse speed is intentionally restricted in this mode. This is to give extra time for instructions to be issued, interpreted and then applied.
HINTS: Try not to use the steering wheel graphic in the top corner of the screen to determine current steering position - just be guided by the audio instructions alone. Because the instructions are audio rather than visual you should now be able to focus fully on the movement of the vehicles.
