Articulation Angle Indicator

The articulation (hitch) angle indicator continuously displays the angle between the centrelines of the towing vehicle and the trailer. This information can be used to anticipate and avoid jack-knife conditions.

The indicator displays angles of up to +/- 95 degrees. In most cases a jack-knife will have occured before this limit is reached.

When a jack-knife event occurs for the first time, the indicator is automatically updated to show the limits of the articulation angle. These limits are displayed as vertical black bars at the left and right edges of the indicator.

Further jack-knife events can be avoided by keeping the angle within the limits.

If you want to know the value of the articulation angle at any time you can select a numerical display by clicking anywhere on the indicator.

The numerical display is colour-coded to reflect the increasing chance of a jack-knife occuring as tbe angle increases (green, orange then red).

To return to the linear display, click on the indicator again.

This feature can be switched off via the Settings option on the main menu if not required.
